Nach mehr als 20 Jahren erscheint am 01. Dezember 2023 endlich "i/o", Peter Gabriels erstes Album mit neuem Songmaterial seit dem 2002 erschienenen "Up".

Im Laufe des Jahres 2023 veröffentlichte Peter zu jedem Vollmond einen neuen Song aus dem Album. "Es ist ein bisschen so, als würde man jeden Monat ein Lego-Steinchen bekommen", erklärt Peter. Jetzt ist es an der Zeit, sich zurückzulehnen und das fertige Werk zu bewundern.

Und was für ein Werk - die intelligenten und nachdenklichen Songs des Albums befassen sich mit dem Leben und dem Universum. Unsere Verbundenheit mit der Welt um uns herum - " I'm just a part of everything" singt Peter im Titeltrack "i/o" - ist ein wiederkehrendes Motiv, aber auch das Vergehen der Zeit, Sterblichkeit und Trauer, neben Themen wie Ungerechtigkeit, Überwachung und den Wurzeln des Terrorismus. Doch obwohl nachdenklich, ist die Stimmung auf dieser Platte nie verzagt; "i/o" ist musikalisch abenteuerlich, oft fröhlich und letztlich voller Hoffnung, gekrönt von dem mitreißend optimistischen Schlusssong "Live and Let Live".

Peter Gabriel
has earned a worldwide reputation for his innovative work as a musician, writer and video maker. When at school he co-founded the group Genesis, which he left in 1975. His albums, live performance and videos since then have won him a succession of awards. Gabriel has released eleven solo albums and in 1986, his album 'So' won him his first Grammy. The videos from this project confirmed him as a leader in video production and included 'Sledgehammer', which has won the most music video awards ever, including number one position in 'Rolling Stones' top 100 videos of all time and the MTV most played video of all time.
