Info zu HUMAN MOSAIC
A concept album that explores the complexity of the human condition through emotional and musical fragments which, taken together, form a single collective portrait. This is "Human Mosaic", the latest album from the Elimi project, due for release on Monday 13 July with the support of MiC and SIAE, as part of the “Per Chi Crea” programme, on the Emme Record Label. Each composition represents a piece of this mosaic: an emotion, a story, a different perspective on humanity and the world. Taken together, the tracks paint a picture of humanity characterised by contrasts, fragility and strength. The main themes of the work are freedom, growth, connection, rebellion and social commentary. The central message is that human beings are multifaceted: they do not possess a single, fixed identity, but are composed of many different nuances that coexist and influence one another.
The sound of "Human Mosaic" combines modern and classical influences, blending jazz, soul, afrobeats and rock into a fluid, contemporary language. This fusion of genres is not merely an aesthetic choice, but an integral part of the concept: musical diversity reflects the very complexity of the human being. The groove is the expressive heart of the project: it gives the sound its identity and guides the different worlds of the album, transforming every track into a vivid and immersive experience. The lyrics explore relationships, conflicts, society and the search for self, touching on profound themes such as love, personal growth and the need for connection.
The tracks on "Human Mosaic" follow a journey that thus reflects the idea of a mosaic: each track conveys an emotion, a situation or a different aspect of the human condition. Taken individually, they have a specific meaning, but together they construct a broader picture of humanity. The opening track, "Everybody", represents the first form of liberation: energy, rhythm and movement are the starting point. With Get Lost, the journey enters a more personal dimension, linked to the search for one’s true self. What Kind of F**k shifts the focus outwards, addressing the contradictions of the contemporary world, to which Connessi responds with a call for empathy and genuine connections. The emotional heart of the album is No More War, which combines social commentary with a call for humanity, transforming into a hymn to peace. From this emerges Growing Together, which represents the possibility of shared reconstruction in the wake of conflict and pain. Finally, Every Corner brings the cycle full circle in an intimate setting, where love remains as a constant memory. Overall, "Human Mosaic" constructs its meaning through the transition between individual experiences, the collective dimension and introspection, showing how different emotions can coexist and complement one another.

ELIMI
was formed in 2019 by a group of friends and fellow musicians, all students at the “A. Scontrino” Conservatory in Trapani. Their sound and musical identity lean towards nu-jazz, while their name draws inspiration from the ancient Elymians, a people who inhabited western Sicily. The band consists of Grazia Buffa (vocals), Giovanni Balistreri (tenor sax), Francesco Di Giovanni (guitar), Vito Vulpetti (electric bass), and Roberto Provenzano (drums). In 2019, the group participated in International Jazz Day, the National Conservatory Festival in Frosinone, and the National Arts Prize in Naples.
Their experience in Naples sparked the idea of recording an EP of original tracks titled *NEXT STOP*; released in February 2020, it was launched with a live session at the “Eliodoro Sollima” Theatre in Marsala. Although the EP was entirely instrumental and featured a different lineup than the current one, the summer of 2020 marked a turning point for the band: the members decided to complement their sound with the rich, expressive vocals of Grazia Buffa. In August 2020, they won the Sicily Jazz Academy Contest in Acireale.
In 2021, they performed at the Sicily Jazz Festival at the Church of Lo Spasimo in Palermo and won the “Tomorrow’s Jazz” award (presented by Veneto Jazz) at the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In the summer of 2022, they participated in the 16th Bucharest International Jazz Competition (EUROPAfest) at the MNAR Auditorium Hall (Royal Palace) in Bucharest, Romania. In 2023, they won the inaugural edition of “UnoJazz&Blues” at the Sanremo Casino Theatre and the first edition of the “Nu Jazz Festival” at the “Guarasci” Auditorium in Cosenza, securing a recording deal with Emme Record Label in collaboration with Tube Recording Studio. In 2024, “MOON DROP”—the band’s first album with EMME Record Label—was released on all digital platforms.
