The Chris Maddock Quartet
Formed in 2017, Chris's quartet aims to explore combining elements of the classic organ-based rhythm section sound with a wide range of modern jazz influences, including Joey Defrancesco, Seamus Blake, Ben Wendel and others.

A strong arsenal of Chris's original material and arrangements gives this group of exceptional musicians free reign to explore powerful grooves and electrifying improvisational flights. ​

Chris Maddock
An award-winning graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire's Jazz degree course, Chris was soon recruited into UK drumming legend Clark Tracey's quintet. As a sideman in this band and many others, Chris has established himself as an in-demand saxophonist on the UK and international scene, performing with ensembles and artists including the Jonathan Silk Big Band, Tom Dunnett Sextet, Hailey Tuck, Emma Smith, Young Pilgrims, Syd Lawrence orchestra, Omar Kamal and many others. ​

Tobie Carpenter
A fellow 2012 alumnus of Birmingham Conservatoire, Tobie leads his own acclaimed trio, with which he has recently released an album: Dead Pan Party (reaching no. 1 on the iTunes Jazz album charts!). Highly versatile, Tobie also performs regularly with rising start bassist Daniel Casimir and in more traditional contexts on banjo. ​

Liam Dunachie
In-demand and incredibly versatile, Liam is equally at home on piano and organ. He has played piano and Hammond organ in groups led by Jim Mullen, Dennis Rollins, Derek Nash, Nigel Price and Postmodern Jukebox's vocalist Aubrey Logan among others. Liam also works in musical theatre, and has been Musical Director for the acclaimed 2015-16 UK No. 1 Tour of "Hairspray" the musical, Associate Musical Director for the London production of Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical "In The Heights", Assistant Musical Director of Baz Luhrmann's "Strictly Ballroom" the musical in 2018, and Associate Musical Director of "Songs for Nobodies" in the West End in 2019. As an accompanist and session pianist he has worked in a wide variety of contexts, including BBC2’s series “The Choir” with Gareth Malone and is featured as both a pianist and arranger on the 2015 UK Official Charts Christmas No.1 Single with the NHS Choir. He has also worked with renowned Radio DJ Tony Blackburn during his UK Tour of the "Sounds of the Sixties" concerts, and will be performing with UK soul legend Beverley Knight during her 2019 tour. ​

Ed Richardson
One of the most talented and exciting drummers in the UK, Ed is first call for many of the finest ensembles and bandleaders in the UK. He has recently been touring with Leo Richardson's quartet following their critically acclaimed debut album release, and also has just returned from an early 2019 US tour with virtuoso clarinettist Julian Bliss.
