Julien Ndiaye
began playing the recorder at the age of 4, and then took up the alto saxophone at the age of 7.

From 2001 to 2003, Julien studied his first jazz notes with Daniel Cortichateau at the Embrun music school, where he discovered the great local big band of Robin Nicaise.

Back in Nice in 2004, young adolescent Julien studied jazz standards for 1 year with Philippe Allegrini.

In 2006, Julien enrolled at the music conservatory of Cannes with JC Di-Costanzo, who led him to his jazz sax qualification obtained in June 2013 with the unanimous congratulations of the jury and the medal of the city of Cannes.

At the same time, Julien, a longtime fan of John Coltrane, his spiritual master, actively continues his development at the music conservatory of Nice.

During this period, Julien developed his technique and his creativity under the leadership of Jean Marc Baccarini and started composing his own music for a forthcoming album.

Since then, Julien has been involved in numerous concerts and sessions with Pierre Marcus, Fred Perreard, Fred D’oelsnitz, Philippe Brassoud, Jean Marc Jafet, Baptiste Herbin, Stéphane Belmondo, Gabriel Pierre, Cyril Galamini, Renaud Gensane, Nicolas Folmer and many others.

Besides music, Julien is also an accomplished sportsman. He enjoys cycling, boxing and paragliding, which inspired his composition named “the little alpine paraglider”.
