Carlos Dourthé
He is a cellist and conductor born in Chile. He studied in Paris and was a member of the Adeamus Quartet and also worked with Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra, Jean-Pierre Rampal , Alexander Schneider, the Filarmonica Orchestra of Bogota and the Ysaye Quartet, appeared at the Opera National Montpelier Languedoc Roussillon in Concert Amadeus and was a soloist in the National Orchestra of France for 15 years.
Over the years he has performed under the leadership of conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Bernard Haitink, Lorin Maazel , Kurt Masur, Riccardo Muti, and Seiji Osawa.
In 1990 he was a co-founder of the Trio Europeen de Luxembourg and appeared with them on the album Beethoven’s Trios for Clarinet. Other albums he has appeared on include Saint-Saens: Les Carnaval des Animeaux with Alain Meunier, Chacon Tout les Mondes by Oui Oui and Pachelbel/Canon, Albeniz/Adagio by the Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra.
