Info zu Slidemaster

This soulful collection of all-instrumental slide guitar tracks emerges from Grammy nominee, Rick Vito, whose iconic slide guitar solo in "Like A Rock" was hailed by Bob Seger as "the single most spectacular solo I'd ever heard." Years of fan requests for an instrumental album inspired this pairing of new works with some favorite cuts from previous albums, all recorded in his revered style.

"On “Soul Shadows,” Vito replicates the titular gloomy feeling in another selection perfect for placement in a foreign film. And despite “Red Hot Baby”’s implications, the easygoing Texas shuffle saunters and slinks its way through some honeyed blues changes. Closing with “The Lord’s Prayer” ends ‘Slidemaster’’s refined deep dive into Rick Vito’s prowess on this aspect of his instrument, displaying his technical and emotional mastery of the style." Rick Vito
has lent his unique slide and lead guitar work to the recordings and performances of an amazing list of artists including Bonnie Raitt, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, John Fogerty, Bob Seger, Roger McGuinn, Boz Scaggs, Dolly Parton, John Prine, Delbert McClinton, Roy Orbison, Jackson Browne, Hank Williams Jr., Todd Rundgren, and scores of others. He has appeared on hundreds of recordings, and his haunting slide guitar solo on Seger’s “Like A Rock,” has been heard by untold millions as the guitar voice on the Chevrolet truck TV commercial ads which ran for a decade.

As a member of the legendary supergroup Fleetwood Mac (1987-1991), Rick brought back a passionate, bluesy quality to the band’s music. His original songs are featured on four of their albums and a full-length concert DVD. Rick later partnered with Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood to form the blues-rocking “Mick Fleetwood Blues Band feat. Rick Vito.” With the release of their CD/DVD, “Blue Again,” Rick was nominated for a 2010 Grammy Award in the “Best Traditional Blues” category as both artist and producer. Rick’s solo work includes nine albums and two DVDs, and he is equally acclaimed as a producer and songwriter. His songs have earned him a Blues Music Award and many TV and film placements. Recent activities continue with many live appearances with his band at Music Festivals and venues around the world where he can be found playing the new “Rick Vito Soulshaker” guitar from Reverend Guitars.
