Benannt nach dem grenzüberschreitenden, genreübergreifenden Stil, der sein gesamtes Schaffen prägt, etabliert Cross Country Breland als eine neue Kraft, die die Zukunft der Country-Musik prägt. Cross Country baut auf dem Songwriting-Können und der Star-Attraktivität auf, die er erstmals auf seiner bahnbrechenden, mit Platin ausgezeichneten Hit-Single "My Truck" - sowie deren Remix mit Sam Hunt - unter Beweis gestellt hat. Der Titel "Cross Country" stammt von einem autobiografischen, von einer Akustikgitarre getragenen Track, der Brelands detailreiche Geschichten und seine warme, aber dennoch souveräne Stimme zeigt. Neben dem Titeltrack "Cross Country (feat. Mickey Guyton)" bietet Brelands Debütalbum auch bereits veröffentlichte Singles wie "Throw It Back (feat. Keith Urban)" und "Praise The Lord (feat.
