Biographie Braths
Thomas Horeczko, aka Braths
is an artist beyond compare.
Classically trained in a suite of instruments, and also responsible for some of the biggest rap hits in Germany, Braths is an astonishing talent capable of production, performance and composition that few could even dream of.
His unique story unfolds from his birth in Paris in 1998 to a Sudanese mother – a cellist – and Ukrainian father – a pianist and composer. Surrounded by music from an early age, Braths draws strength and passion from his family's musical heritage, overcoming life's challenges through their love for music. His cosmopolitan upbringing, marked by diverse cultural influences with Jewish and Muslim roots in his family, is reflected in his multilingual identity as a European citizen of the world. As a musician, he embraced his mixed heritage to carve his very own path through diverse musical spaces.
Initiating his musical journey at the age of 4, Braths masters seven instruments, including the violin, guitar, saxophone, bassoon, and piano. Throughout his life, he has often been a singular standout in various settings. One notable occurrence that had a lasting influence on him was being the only black violin student at the Paris Conservatory. Reflecting on this experience, he is committed to breaking barriers in classical music, aiming to make it accessible to the black community. After leaving school in Paris, Braths moved to Berlin to study sound engineering and Jazz composition. Soon after arriving in Germany, he ventured into the German Hip-Hop scene, earning himself a reputation as a talented songwriter and producer. He collaborated with some of the most prominent hip-hop artists from the local scene, such as Nimo und Olexesh, Symba, Kana und Mavie, or Kornkreis Mafia Symba. He is now an established creative force running a popular production company with recording studios in both Berlin and Paris.
In his own music, Braths combines all his multifaceted influences into unique, atmospheric instrumental compositions.
