Fieri Consort
is an acclaimed vocal ensemble specialising in music of the 16th and 17th Centuries and formed of some of London’s most talented professional singers.
Fieri’s debut album, Tears of a Lover, was BBC Music Magazine’s choice album of the month in 2017, and The Unknown Traveller was released in September 2018 as the ensemble’s second album.
Fieri prides itself in presenting a union of individual soloistic voices, all equally artistically and musically responsible. Fieri’s recordings have been featured on radio channels including BBC Radio 3 (on which the ensemble has also performed live) and Australia’s Classic FM, and the ensemble won the Cambridge Prize in the York Early Music Festival 2017 International Young Artist Competition.
Camerata Öresund
Baroque ensemble Camerata Øresund and their musical director / violinist Peter Spissky explore the musical world of composer, instrumentalist, and patron of the arts, Wilhelmine von Bayreuth (1709–1758). The recording brings to light works by Wilhelmine herself and musicians from within her circle, as we rediscover several long-forgotten pieces. Wilhelmine’s entrepreneurial spirit, intellect, talent, and deep love of music and the arts remain an enduring source of inspiration. This album is a tribute to the life and legacy of this remarkable woman of the arts, revealing vibrant musical colours and styles in these concertos, dances, and arias.
The recording of the album is made possible with the generous support from Statens Kunstfond (DK), Kulturrådet (SE) Aage-og Johanne Louis Hansens Fonden (DK), William Demant Fonden (DK) and Augustinusfonden (DK).
Camerata Øresund is a visionary early music ensemble, driven by a passion for Baroque music, its diverse modes of expression, and its enchanting sonic universe.
While deeply rooted in the traditions of Baroque music, we leave our own distinct mark through a personal performance style and a versatile approach. By experimenting with concert formats, exploring new interpretive paths, or delving into rarely performed repertoire, we bring out the surprising facets of the music, illuminating it from a variety of angles. Through energetic and intuitive interplay, we relish the act of creating music in the moment, aiming to share the joy of music through vibrant performances that resonate with a modern audience.
Just as our mission is to inspire our audience, we, too, find inspiration in our encounters with other musicians and art forms. Collaborations with folk musicians, composers, dancers, and singers broaden our perspective on the potential of period instruments, sparking new creative ideas.
“Camerata Øresund sound like they brought a lot of enthusiasm to this project. All the movements have a spring to the rhythm and the lightness of attack… They give the listener the impression that the ensemble wants you to hear and remember those works. I think they succeed” – Adult Music Podcast
